Amsterdam’s Light Festival features work from artists around the world displayed along the city’s iconic canals. The theme for the 2019-2020 festival is ‘DISRUPT!’.
Yes. You can follow the walking route and see all the artwork displayed for free. Boat tours also do routes dedicated to the light festival, however these are not free of charge.
The dates for this year are 28th November 2019 – 19th January 2020. The works can be explored daily from 17:00 to 20:00.
Amsterdam city centre. The total walking route of the festival is 6.3km. Central Station, Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein are all good starting points. You can find the walking and boat routes for the festival here.
